Botswana is famous for having the largest herds of elephant in Africa and the huge, never-ending landscapes of the Northern Tuli Game Reserve make it an ideal habitat for studying these intelligent creatures. It is also here, near the mighty Limpopo River where Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa meet, that leopard, cheetah, lion and wild dog specialists are undertaking vital research on these elusive predators.

This pioneering tour allows you to join elephant, big cat and wild dog researchers on specially adapted research drives and observes their conservation work in action. They will explain their research as they study and interpret the animal’s behavioural patterns, something not available on a traditional game drive.

This small group safari is based at the excellent Mashatu Tented Camp from where you can head out on game drives, bush walks and night safaris to learn about the ongoing study of the Central Limpopo River Valley Elephant Research, Northern Tuli Predator Project and the Northern Tuli Wild Dog Project which this trip supports.
