San Camp

Zebra drinking (Bevan)

An oasis nestled amongst scattered clusters of palm trees, San Camp is situated on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pan. The six white canvas tents with en-suite bucket showers provides an intimate and exclusive camp.  The main area boasts an interesting collection of bones, pottery, stone tools and beadwork, all set in antique display cases.

Wildlife
The rare and elusive brown hyaena, habituated meerkats, fascinating desert-adapted wildlife.

Activities
Activities are aimed at guests gaining a holistic understanding of the Kalahari and all its inhabitants.  The San Camp guides team up with a small group of Zu/’hoasi Bushmen to guide guests on morning walks and game drives.  Quad bike excursions on offer in the dry, winter months.

Eco-credentials
The khaki and white canvas of the camp blends effortlessly into the salty expanse of the pans, creating a non-intusive camp with no running water or electricity.
