Trip Summary
The Congo basin has long been considered one of the most exciting destinations for travellers looking for a wildlife trip with added adventure. The Dzanga-Sangha park in the forests of the Central African Republic is a wildlife haven where few people have ever set foot and until now has required the determination and stamina of Victorian explorers to make the journey.
However, the new airstrip at nearby Bayanga has now opened up the park to a select number of travellers who prefer the convenience and comfort of a shared charter flight to make the most of their time away.
Based at the privately run, exclusive Doli Lodge, on the banks of the Sangha River, this trip allows you to track and observe some of the rarest wildlife in Africa. From lowland gorillas and forest elephants, to bongo and sitatunga antelope travel alongside researchers and guides working with the World Wide Fund for Nature. You can also partake in interpretive nature walks accompanied by members from the local Ba’Aka tribes, who will show you how they live in harmony with the forest that they call home, looking out for the smaller flora and fauna often overlooked on a more traditional safari.
