Laragai House - on Borana
This house, once home to the well known Cecil family, is built on the edge of an escarpment, which falls down 3000 feet into the Northern Frontier District. The views are stupendous - Mt Kenya looms out to the south. Laragai House is a private home, and is available for rent by families or small groups when they are not in residence, for between 10 and 16, depending on children. The sitting room is 'baronial', with thatched roof, an enormous fireplace at either end, paintings and huge cushioned covered sofas occupy the vast space. The house has its own staff and private guides, all of whom are attentive yet discreet, to do exactly what you want when you want it!
