Ol Malo
A glorious cliff edge lodge, with one of the finest views in Kenya, across the Northern Frontier District’s rugged rolling hills of untamed wilderness. Ol Malo has four cottages spread out along the cliff edge, each cunningly built out of the natural rock and ancient olive wood, with thatched roofs and huge glass windows facing onto the view. Its guests are strictly limited so the owners Colin and Rocky Francombe can give you undivided attention and hospitality. To soak in a bath and look out across a stunning vista is a ‘must do’ activity! Ol Malo has a separate sitting room, a beautiful infinity swimming pool and an open dining room.
Wildlife
Resident leopard that lives below the lodge, elephant, herds of Grevy zebras, reticulated giraffe, dik dik and impala, Lions and greater kudu.
Activities
Day and night game drives, game walks, camel and horse rides and visits to the neighbouring Samburu manyattas. Fly camping and stargazing.
Eco-credentials
Winner of the Responsible Tourism Award in 2006 for their work with the local communities. Colin and his daughter Julia are the driving force for conservation.
