Sarara Luxury Camp

Steppes Discovery awaiting image

Far from the madding crowd surrounded by high peaks is Namunyak, meaning 'a place of peace' in Samburu. This vast tribal community wilderness area is overseen by the Lewa, but run by the local community and is situated in the little visited Matthews Mountains of Northern Kenya. Sarara has five luxury sleeping tents, each with its own flush loo and open-air bush shower. The camp can accommodate a total of 10 people and is ideal for a travelling family or party of friends. A beautiful lounge and dining ‘banda’ overlooks a natural swimming pool and waterhole with unrivalled views of the Mountains.

Wildlife
Lots of elephant, lion and leopard and African Wild Dog, kudu, Grevy's zebra, striped hyena and gerenuk. Black and white colobus monkeys in the forest.
