Maya’s Dugong

Maya's Dugong, madagascar

Built in 1966 as a research vessel for the Canadian Government, Maya’s Dugong has recently undergone extensive renovation and refurbishment, to create a perfect expeditionary ship combining a functional workboat with the comfort of a well appointed modern yacht. A superbly designed and spacious boat, she is very well suited for the weather and sea conditions prevalent in the Indian Ocean.

With 9 cabins offered in three grades, the 2 mariners cabins have 3 single bunks each and a bathroom shared between the two. All other cabins offer twin or double beds and en-suite facilities, air conditioning and ample storage. Large public areas and facilities include a spacious dining salon where a combination of European and India Ocean cuisine is served.  There is a lounge and outdoor leisure deck which provides opportunities for al fresco dining and also serves as a comfortable observation deck.

There is also plenty of open deck space onboard for sun bathing and relaxing. The spacious bridge allows you to take in the adventure with a captain’s eye view of all the surroundings

Onboard there is snorkelling equipment, fishing tackle, two 2-seater kayaks, two traditional Malagasy pirogues, 18 dive tanks, 7 full diving sets for rent and 2 dive compressors and a tender for excursions and landings.
