Ankarana Special Reserve
This is one of the most adventurous reserves for visitors, rewarding those who make the effort with dramatic landscape of limestone pinnacles (tsingy), caves, untouched forest and a wealth of wildlife. Key species to look for are the Crowned lemur, Sanford's brown lemur, northern sportive lemur, white-breasted mesite, crested coua, Oustalet's chameleon, whte-lippped chameleon.
Camping in one of the four campsites is the only accommodation on offer although it is possible to visit this reserve on a day trip excursion from Antsiranana (Diego Suarez).
Best months to visit is in the hot, wet months when wildlife is more visible.
