Damaraland
Damaraland is the name given to the region south of Kaokoveld and north of the main road to Swakopmund. The name Damaraland is derived from the fact that the Damara people live in this area and it contains fascinating geological features such as the Petrified Forest, the volcanic Burnt Mountain and the basalt Organ Pipes. There are also a wealth of rock engravings and Bushman paintings.
