Jaci’s Safari Camps
Jaci’s Safari Lodge and Jaci’s Tree Lodge are privately owned lodges set in the malaria-free Madikwe Reserve. The Safari Lodge has only eight large rooms and an exclusive two-bedroomed suite which are all built with shaggy thatched roofs, canvas walls and large tented windows. The main area is built around an ancient termite mound and has a spacious lounge and open plan dining area with uninterrupted views of the bush. Tree Lodge has eight ‘tree houses’, built six metres above the ground and each encompassing a giant Tambotie or Leadwood tree. The open plan en-suite bathroom with its enormous stone bath and outdoor ‘jungle shower’ allows you to make the most of the forest surrounds.
Wildlife
The species that populate Madikwe include lion, leopard, black rhino and white rhino as well as large herds of elephant and buffalo. The rare African wild dog, cheetah, spotted and brown hyena, giraffe, zebra and numerous antelope species also roam the reserve. Over 340 bird species also make their home in Madikwe.
