Cheetah Watch Safari, Tanzania
This journey idea allows you to track cheetah across the endless plains of the Serengeti on safari, alongside experts from the Serengeti Cheetah Project. The project is run in conjunction with Sanctuary Kusini whose research is independent from the parks board. There is only 1 field researcher at the Project who has to cover the entire Serengeti eco system and by joining them, you will embark on “cheetah Watch” safaris, learning how to identify cheetah with the use of field ID kits and learn to understand and monitor their behavior of world’s fastest land animal.
This not only makes for some striking photo opportunities, but these photos will be combined with the record of the animals location and sent to the research centre itself. In return the centre will provide you with a detailed background of y our cheetah and its family. The information you gather helps us to better understand cheetah so that the project can create effective conservation policies. The trip then ends at Tides Luxury Lodge, on the spectacular Swahili coastline, where the beaches are washed by the warm waters of the Indian ocean for some time to relax and unwind after the excitement of the safari.
