Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

Without doubt, the most glamorous lodge in the crater area, with a price tag to match. Consisting of 30 Maasai-inspired suites perched on stilts on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater the lodge was described by travel magazine, Discover Africa, as "Versailles meets Maasai in the game lodge at the edge of the world". Whilst the sumptuous decor and eclectic design of African artefacts, chandeliers and rich, colourful fabrics draped on the walls may be a little too ostentatious for some, there’s no denying the service, style and setting are all first-class and the views alone are well worth a visit.
