Plantation Lodge
Situated about 30kms from the Crater, itself neatly tucked away on a coffee farm in the hills surrounding Ngorongoro, the atmosphere is reminiscent of a family home and is one of the most welcoming places in the region. Each of the rooms is designed individually, reflecting the areas rich heritage and is combined with the charm of a spacious country farmhouse offering an excellent alternative for those looking to avoid the crowds. Whilst it does take around an hour longer in the mornings to reach the rim of the crater, this is a small compromise, given that it exudes a warmth and homeliness lacking in the much larger lodges on the crater rim.
