Ruaha River Lodge
This highly regarded and comfortable private camp, run by Bruce Fox (Chris’s brother!) is in an ideal position facing a small river, allowing for some VERY close wildlife encounters. The unpretentious stone and thatch bandas are clean and comfortable and are stretched out along the river, allowing all rooms’ great views of the river and resident game. However, the fact that Bruce seems to have his entire family helping to run the show, lends the lodge a great warmth to which can be missing in the more luxurious camps nearby.

Elephants in the river, hippo pool, vervet monkeys, colourful rock agama lizards, cheetah, great birding.

Game drives, bush walks, fly camping.

Local stone and thatch bandas designed with minimal impact on the environment. Long term sustainable conservation initiatives with both the Ruaha Park authorities and the Tanzanian park board.
