Gibb’s Farm
Ideally located for a trip to either Lake Manyara or the Ngorongoro Crater, the lodge is set among formal English gardens, with the 20 en suite cottages situated in the heart of a working farm. Built in 1929, the Farmhouse has hardly changed, retaining its charm from the cosy living room to the snug reading corners. Fireplaces fill the Farmhouse with warmth and historical charm, keeping the winter evenings at bay, whilst the vast 10-acre organic fruit and vegetable garden provides 90% of the ingredients needed for fresh, home-cooked meals.
Wildlife
Colourful birdlife around the lodge.
Activities
Maasai Spa, farm walks, Ngorongoro forest walk, Karatu village tour, Tloma primary school visit (supported by Gibbs).
Eco-credentials
The lodge sponsors Mazingira Bora Karatu ( a better environment for Karatu) which for over a decade has promoted environmental awareness, the planting of native trees and the rehabilitation of degraded lands in the entire district.
