Ras Kutani

Ras Kutani lies on an undeveloped Indian Ocean Beach, a four-kilometre crescent of white sand, surrounded by tropical forest replete with colobus monkeys, set adjacent to a fresh water lagoon on the coast of mainland Tanzania. Accommodation is in spacious cottages constructed from local materials, each with its own en suite and large veranda overlooking the beach, but those who prefer a more active stay there are facilities for sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling and fishing or enjoy long walks exploring the forests in search of the four different species of monkey.

Wildlife
Turtle hatching in nests adjacent to lodge from January to May. The coastal forest, Colobus, Vervet and Sykes Monkey , Baboons, Wild Pigs and the elusive Civet in the nearby coastal forest. Great birding and abundance of butterflies.

Eco-credentials
Sensitive use of local materials in building, sustainable practices in the use of water and waste disposal, local employment opportunities in an area traditionally overlooked by the busier Zanzibar resorts.
