Ndali Lodge, Kibale Forest National Park, Uganda

Ndali Lodge exterior Ndali Lodge from afar

One of our favourite lodges in Uganda owned and run by your host, Aubrey Price, it consists of individual cottages with their own private veranda with views towards the Ruwenzoris, en suite bathrooms and spacious airy bedrooms. Originally built as one of the countries most successful tea plantations, the lodge itself now lies at the centre of 1000 acres of working farmland and has been adapted for an exclusive number of guests.

Four poster beds, draped in mosquito nets and decorated with locally made crafts give each cottage a very individual feel. The lodge’s water supply comes directly from the crater lake 100m below in the crater with an ingenious pressure system and so no external power is needed and ensures hot water is available all the time! Lit with lanterns and candles including spectacular chandeliers above the central dining area which provides for a very romantic atmosphere. Whilst it is a little further from the park headquarters, this is by far one of the best lodges in the region for those looking for something a little different and full of character.

Wildlife
Chimpanzees, birdlife (including a high number of resident kingfishers on the lodges own lake).

Activities
Walks around the farm, trips to Mahoma Waterfall, boat safaris, walks to the foothills of nearby Ruwenzori Mountains, plantation walks, chimpanzee trekking, Bigodi Wetland trips.

Eco-credentials
Ndali works closely with the local school supporting and sponsoring not only the children, whose parents work at the lodge, but also the teachers themselves.
