Semliki Lodge
Built on the site of an original hunting lodge which was completely renovated, this small and little visited camp is considered to be one of the most luxurious lodges in Uganda (and certainly the only option in the park!). Richly decorated with Persian rugs and local, handcrafted furniture, the lodge uses local stone and thatch materials to ensure minimal impact on the environment and retains a very organic and relaxed atmosphere.
Wildlife
Elephants, hippo’s, excellent birding including one of the best places for the shoebill stork, leopards, lions (elusive!) numerous primates including the vervet monkey and olive baboon, chimpanzees in the nearby Mugiri River Forest, butterflies and Ugandan kob.
Activities
Game drives, night drives, bird watching, chimpanzee trekking, boat trips.
Eco-credentials
Materials used in construction have been recycled from the original hunting lodge, whilst the waste disposal facilities are all environmentally sensitive.
