Situated on the west bank of the magnificent Lunga River in the north-eastern region of the park, Lunga River Lodge has six spacious thatched rooms with en-suite shower and bathroom with private decks that overlook the river.  A maximum of 12 guests can be accommodated at any one time and Lunga River Lodge is open from May to mid-November.

Wildlife
The unusual tree hyrax is resident in the camp, often heard in the evenings.  Over 490 species of birds, including the endemic Chaplin’s Barbet.  Puku, impala, roan and Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, buffalo and elephant as well as lion and leopard.

Activities
Focus on the exploring the river by boat, on foot along its banks, or by vehicle in the fringing woodlands and dambos (open, grassy areas).

Eco-credentials
A portion of each guest’s fare at Wilderness Safaris camps is allocated to the Wilderness Safaris Wildlife Trust, with 100% of these funds going to Trust-approved projects.  The projects deal with the needs of existing wildlife populations, seek solutions to save endangered species and provide education and training for local people and their communities.
