Shumba Camp
Situated in the Busanga Plains, which covers 750 square kilometres, Shumba Camp comprises of six spacious luxury safari tents on raised platforms with views of the surrounding plains. The camp is within close proximity to permanent water and has easy access to a mix of seasonal and permanent floodplains. Shumba Camp is open from May to mid-November.
Wildlife
Puku, lechwe and hippo can be seen from your tent or the main deck while lion are frequently seen on the floodplain in front of the camp.
Activities
Focus on the exploring the river by boat, on foot along its banks, or by vehicle in the fringing woodlands and dambos (open, grassy areas).
Eco-credentials
A portion of each guest’s fare at Wilderness Safaris camps is allocated to the Wilderness Safaris Wildlife Trust, with 100% of these funds going to Trust-approved projects. The projects deal with the needs of existing wildlife populations, seek solutions to save endangered species and provide education and training for local people and their communities.
