Steppes Discovery, in exclusive co-operation with John Wright, a professional wildlife photographer, is offering a select few the opportunity to go behind the scenes of orangutan conservation in the lush rainforests of Indonesia. This accessible photography tour is open to people of all ages and ability, combining the thrill of tracking Asia's only great ape in the wilds of Borneo, with the chance to learn the skills needed to improve your wildlife photography and capture on film one of the world’s most iconic animals. However, there is a host of other wildlife to look out for, from the colourful hornbills and kingfishers, proboscis monkeys, wild boars and numerous butterflies, not to mention the small communities living nearby.
Based at the comfortable Rimba Lodge in Tanjung Puting National Park, you will have the chance to explore this fascinating environment and spend most days visiting the orangutans, spending hours at a time with these fascinating creatures - excellent for photography, with fun workshops and lectures in the evening.
