Trip Summary
Under the tutelage of Sri Lanka’s leading wildlife experts, who have worked alongside the BBC and National Geographic film units, this tour is designed to show you some of Asia’s most fascinating wildlife in a group of only 10 people. You can enjoy a thrilling whale safari in the rich waters of the Indian Ocean before continuing to Yala National Park, for exclusive, luxury camping in remote areas inside the park, for leopard encounters away from the crowds.
Our leaders and partners in Sri Lanka are considered the best in their field, following strict codes of conduct for wildlife viewing and it is this exclusive insight and expertise, combined with the chance to camp in Yala itself that sets our tours apart. In addition to the whales and leopards, we will explore areas that are home to large herds of Asian elephant, the striking jackal, along with civets and pangolin, which you can search for on evening drives. You also have one of the richest bird lists in the whole of Asia, with 435 recorded species, 20 of which are endemic, along with the chance to visit the living UNESCO site at the Dutch fort in Galle.
No wonder this is proving one of our most popular Asian wildlife tours.
There are also plenty of opportunities to extend your time in Sri Lanka and explore the rich cultural heritage at Anuradhapura, Sigiriya or Polonnaruwa, the Temple of The tooth at Kandy or other parks such as Udawalawe and Sinharaja.
