Esquinas Rainforest Lodge
Hidden in the jungle of remote Piedras Blancas National Park in southern Costa Rica, Esquinas Rainforest Lodge is surrounded by thousands of acres of untouched wilderness. It is a retreat for nature lovers wishing to experience the sounds and sights of a tropical rainforest in a tranquil, undisturbed atmosphere.
Wildlife
A “biological corridor” around the Golfo Dulce between Corcovado and Piedras Blancas National Parks connects key natural areas and forms a 300 square mile protected zone collectively known as "The Osa". The Osa is home to more than 375 species of birds (of which 362 have been sighted in Piedras Blancas and the Golfo Dulce), 124 species of mammals, 40 species of freshwater fish, approximately 8,000 species of insects, and 117 species of reptiles and amphibians.
Activities
Esquinas Rainforest Lodge offers a large variety of tours and excursions in Piedras Blancas National Park, in the valley of La Gamba, and in the Golfo Dulce. Since there are no other lodges near us, you will rarely encounter any other tourists on your excursions.
Eco-credentials
Conservation: In 1991, the Esquinas forest, one of the last unprotected lowland tropical rainforests on the Pacific coast of Central America, was declared Piedras Blancas National Park.
