Kaziranga National Park

Located on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River in the far North Eastern state of Assam, Kaziranga National Park covers an area of approximately 430 sq kms and is a World Heritage Site.

With thick swamps and tall thickets of elephant grass Kaziranga represents the ideal habitat for the Indian one-horned rhino and is home to 80% of the world’s population of these highly endangered animals. Large herds of elephants are also present and the bird life is also fantastic – look out for the large numbers of pelicans!
