Trip Overview
This expedition aboard a small, 54 passenger, vessel allows for an in-depth exploration of this area one of the most geologically active and biologically rich parts of the planet. The Kamchatka Peninsula offers a stunning backdrop of snow capped mountains. The Alpine meadows are rich in plantlife and lowland forests full of rare bird species.
You can take this voyage northbound in June which is a particularly good time for spring flowers or southbound in September when the northern tundra will be spectacularly autumnal.
The seas in this region, in particularly around the Commander Islands, are nutrient rich and home to huge numbers of whale species including Humpback, Orcas and Grey. The towering sea cliffs are home to millions of nesting birds and you can also hope to see brown bears and other mammals.
