North America
Step away from the bright lights of the big cities and North America is home to a vast wilderness of untamed forest, desert, tundra, volcanoes and lakes. For the perceptive traveller the USA is full of wildlife watching potential, from whale watching in Baja California to Grizzly bear encounters in Alaska and polar bear watching in Canada.
In the far north lies Alaska. Separated from the rest of the United States by Canada, it is an outdoor world, a wild frontier, and a land of many faces. Often so vast and roadless that many areas still remain inaccessible. An Alaska cruise aboard a small ship with the freedom of a flexible itinerary and a shallow draft to access the quieter backwaters is the perfect way to unlock this wild frontier and get up close to its wildlife.
Alternatively you might prefer to explore Alaska by sea-plane, by yacht and on foot - if so take a look at our Alaskan Wildlife Tour. British Columbia in Canada has a reputation for exceptional grizzly bear watching opportunities aswell as a rugged and beautiful landscape occupied by a whole host of other wildlife - our Grizzlies & Wildlife tour places you in the heart of BC's bear country for unbeatable bear viewing,
In the south, lying just south of California, a narrow stiletto-like peninsula separated from mainland Mexico by the Sea of Cortez, Baja is one of the richest marine environments on the planet, while over 3,000 plant species flourish in its pristine desert landscape. Take a Baja whale watching cruise and get remarkably close to Gray whales or alternatively take a land based Baja holiday, staying in beach side cabanas and whale watching by boat during the day.
Sandwiched between north and south is Yellowstone National Park. Take a look at our Winter Wolf Tour if you like the thought of tracking wolves in the snow filled and wildlife rich Lamar Valley in Yellowstone.
