The Central Coast of British Columbia is one of Canada’s wildest regions, where the spectacular Coast Range meets the Pacific Ocean and is home to one of the most densely populated brown bear habitats in North America. In a small group of only 10 people, we explore this dramatic region, through the Bella Coola Valley, where the rivers are crowded with spawning salmon, attracting bears and bald eagles.

We will also be able to explore secluded trails in the region, looking for the rare cougar and grey wolves, before taking a helicopter ride across the serrated ridges of the Coast Range. Covered in snow and ice the range makes for a very different perspective and some excellent photographic opportunities.

At night, we return to the excellent Tweedsmuir Park Lodge, set in a dramatic river valley at the base of an 8,000 ft mountain where you may be lucky enough to see grizzlies from your rooms overlooking the broad meadows below.
