Cub Boom - India Tiger Park

A report released this April from the various tiger reserves around India confirm a bumper number of tiger cubs being born. There has been at least 112 cubs born recently which is encouraging news that the tiger will breed well if managed well. The welcome mini boom will mean nothing unless the Indian authorities clamp down on the illegal poaching that is still ongoing in both protected and non protected forest land.
The good news is that smaller parks, not necessarily known for their tiger population, such as Nagerhole National Park, has seen the birth of 10 cubs. These figures are on a par with the larger known populations of Bandhavgarh and Ranthambhore for the same year.
Nagerhole National Park is located in South India, within the state of Karnataka. The park boasts a large lake , which enables wildlife spotting from boats as well as by jeep. The Asiatic Elephant migration here is one of the largest in Asia. It is possible to combine a visit to Nagerhole National Park with the coastal region and backwaters of Kerala.
