WWF celebrates 50 years of conservation in 2011

WWF logo

2011 marks the 50th anniversary of the World Wide Fund for Nature, one of the largest independent nature conservation organisations in the world and certainly one of the most famous. Founded in 1961 with over 5 million supporters, they have spent millions on conservation work and currently have more than 1000 international projects across the globe. Using their unique combination of practical experience, knowledge and credibility, their staff work with governments, businesses and communities both here in the UK and around the world so to protect livelihoods and the planets natural resources.

Steppes Discovery has worked closely with the WWF over the years and continues to do so, with a number of our tours helping to support a wide range of projects, which include an annual membership to WWF so you can help make a difference. These include joining Polar Bear experts in the Canadian Arctic on our Classic Polar Bear tour, exploring the rainforests of Congo and the Central African Republic on our Lowland Gorilla and Forest Elephant tour, or searching for the WWF’s very own icon – on the trail of the Wild Panda.

Feel free to call on 01285 643333 or email enquiry@steppesdiscovery.co.uk to see how these fascinating trips can really make a difference and what sets our tours apart.
