White Winged Guan Chicks seen at Chaparri Eco Lodge
According to local custom the call of the Striped Cuckoo is an auspicious sign that the rains are on their way. Chaparri needs rain and the local people are not only encouraged by the cuckoo making his presence known but also by the news that White Winged Guan chicks have been spotted at Chaparri Eco Lodge. If birds don't particularly excite you then the news that a female Spectacled Bear was seen with her 6 month old offspring a few weeks ago is sure to raise an eyebrow. Over the past 4 to 5 years the north coast of Peru has suffered from drought conditions so to hear that Guan chicks and bear cubs have been spotted is hopefully a sign that Chaparri's wildlife continues to thrive in spite of the difficult conditions.
We still have places on our Land of the Spectacled Bear group trip. Please contact Emma to discuss on 01285 643 333.
