Sue Flood photographer

After graduating from Durham University in 1986 with a degree in Zoology, Sue joined wildlife production company 'Survival Anglia'. In 1993 she moved on to the BBC and spent 11 years working for their world-renowned Natural History Unit in Bristol.

Sue was an Assistant Producer on the award-winning series 'The Blue Planet', when she worked on the amazing sequence of killer whales hunting grey whales in California. Sue also worked on Planet Earth, as a stills photographer and field assistant, which took her to the Arctic, Antarctic and the South Pacific. She left the BBC in 2005 to go freelance and is now a full-time professional photographer represented by Getty Images.

Recognition of Sue’s work includes International Photographer of the Year – Travel and Tourism winner; Travel Photographer of the Year – best single nature shot; the Art Wolfe (Best of Festival) Award in the International Conservation Photography Awards; and a silver medal from the Royal Photographic Society for her nature photography. Sue has just published her first book "Cold Places" featuring her favourite polar images from 14 years working in the polar regions.
